Hello All team Captains

This is the 9th of the results newsletters for the 2025 season, and the quarter final matches

have been played. This year it was the away teams that held sway in all but 1 of the QF’s.

Congratulations (again) go to Stockbrook Manor who kicked things off with another excellent 6-3

away win, this time at Braintree, this was followed by Crondon beating Brentwood 5-4 at

Brentwood and Wanstead winning 5.5-3.5 away at Stoke by Nayland and to finish off the semi

final berths Mardyke Valley bucked the trend and beat The Warren 6-3 at home.

With the Quarter finals complete and the semi-finals set we have:

Crondon Park v Stockbrook Manor @ Forrester Park Golf Club

A repeat of last years final and

Mardyke Valley v Wanstead @ Braintree Golf Club

Semi finals will be played on the 6th & 7th September respectively.

However with holders Crondon Park putting up a very stout defence of their title and still very

much in the running we are, as last year, left with a potential final venue headache.

Good luck to all 4 remaining teams still in the hunt for the race to Crondon Park for the final.

At this time we the committee and perhaps you yourselves start thinking about next years

competition. The link to the entry form is below, this can also be accessed via the gateway page

and very soon the Jubilee Cup website. The entry fee has been £40 for many years but we can

no longer maintain it at that level and still offer the competition we do so from this year the

committee has had to increase the entry fee to £50. We still think this is excellent value for the

matches and competition that all teams get a chance to participate in and allows us to maintain

the competition as it currently is. We very much hope all the teams understand in this regard.

We know that clubs not currently playing in the Jubilee Cup are expressing an interest in joining

so get your applications in asap to avoid any entry disappointment.

The order of merit competitions are taking shape with 1100 players representing their respective

clubs across singles and pairs matches.

5 players have 5 wins in the singles with Jon and Dean still in the competition along with

Graham (Wanstead) and Mike (Stockbrook) only a half point behind still very much in with a

chance of the title and Rob (Stockbrook) and Dave (Crondon) on 4 points can still sneak in at

the death.

In the pairs 4 players have 4.5 points but only Ian (Crondon) still remains in the competition and

Stuart (Wanstead) on 4 and Phil (Stockbrook) 3.5 can still also take the top pairs spot.

Good luck and play well to all players battling it out for their teams and clubs in the semi finals

and beyond.

Remaining round eligibility dates for the 7 cards rule are as below:

SF’s - 12 months prior to 23rd August 2025

Final - 12 months prior to 5th September 2025

Finally - and once again, we are 3 volunteers that have enjoyed playing in the Jubilee Cup over

the years and are doing our level best to maintain and develop the competition but at times it is

a difficult task to be there for all the scheduled events. In that regard we would welcome more

volunteers to get involved with some aspects of the organisation and running of the events, the

later stages of the competition are particularly difficult for just 3 people to cover and some other

helpers at the semi-finals and final days would be very very welcome. So if anyone, who has

enjoyed playing in the competition and would like to get involved a bit in helping run aspects of it
