July Newsletter
Hello All team Captains
This is the 7th of the results newsletters for the 2025 season,
The league phase is completed 96 matches completed including 18 away wins and 3 draws. 48 teams is now down to 16 going forward into the knockout phase, with some big results in match week 4, having huge impacts on which teams qualified.
We have been hugely encouraged by lots of close games and excellent team spirit and many, many instances of the ‘true spirit of the game’ being shown between many teams in lots of matches.
Last League Games Summary
Clacton won at home 8-1 to Theydon Bois, in group A, to qualify second having been bottom after round three.
Castle Point drew their last game,in group C, to qualify second ,and despite Upminster defeating group winners Stoke By Nayland by 5-4 they narrowly did not qualify.
Harwich beat Rochford away to qualify runners up in their group F.
Both Wansted and Woolston Manor qualified, in group D , despite not looking like they could ....
There are only two unbeaten teams The Warren and Braintree Golf Club
Good luck to all 16 teams still in the hunt for the race to Crondon Park for the final.
Remember with the holders Crondon Park making it through to the knockout phase, the venue of the final would be switched if they make it all the way to the finals day match up.
Remember the play by date for the match is 27th July 2025 and the 7 card eligibility date was the 28th June. Also a reminder Home Captains need to offer 2 dates not on the same weekend
particularly crucial at the moment with Captain’s Days and Club Championships happening at a great many clubs.

Finally - as you probably know, we are 3 volunteers that have enjoyed playing in the Jubilee Cup over the years and are doing our level best to maintain and develop the competition but at times it is a difficult task to be there for all the scheduled events. In that regard we would welcome more volunteers to get involved with some aspects of the organisation and running of the events, the later stages of the competition are particularly difficult for just 3 people to cover and some other helpers at the semi-finals and final days would be very very welcome. So if anyone, who has enjoyed playing in the competition and would like to get involved a bit in helping run aspects of it then please get in touch at jubileecup@yahoo.co.uk. If you’d like to discuss it anything then get in touch. We’d be delighted to talk you through the tasks we do.
Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
Yours the Jubilee Cup Committee..
