Jubilee Cup September Newsletter

Hello All team Captains and competitors

This is the 7th newsletter of the 2026 season and 48 teams has now become the final 2.

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September saw The Essex take on Crondon Park followed by Top Meadow doing battle with The Rayleigh Club in beautifully sunny conditions in what turned out to be highly entertaining matches full of some outstanding golf. Congratulations go to all 4 teams not only for making it through to the semi-finals, some for the first time in their clubs history, but also for the quality of play and exceptional team spirits and sportsmanship shown throughout the weekend. It was a pleasure to be officiating on both days.

In the end Crondon Park saw off a battling Essex Golf Club 6 points to 3 and Top Meadow beat the Rayleigh Club 6.5 points to 2.5 in a topsy-turvy encounter which saw Rayleigh take an early lead only for Top Meadow to overhaul them and take command, especially in the singles matches.

So the final sees Top Meadow v Crondon Park @ Wanstead Golf Club on Sunday 27th September.

Where, in addition to the 2027 champions being decided, the order of merit titles will also be determined. The pairs looks almost unassailable but there are 6 players, all in finals day teams vying for the singles title. Another little treat for the big day. Good luck gents.
